Former NHL All-Star Theo Fleury headlines Shine the Light Gala
Circle March 27, 2020 on your calendars for your chance to see NHL All-Star, Stanley Cup winner and Olympic gold medalist Theo Fleury as he headlines this year's Shine the Light Gala.
Theo’s mission statement is to help as many people get to where they want to go. This has taken shape in many forms, whether meeting people for a brief moment on the street or as a dynamic inspirational speaker with the intention of creating healing through conversation.
This is Waypoint's 7th annual fundraising gala and it's our hospital's largest fundraiser.
This year's event is made possible in part by the lead sponsor TD Bank Group, whose contributions to the hospital have totaled nearly a quarter million dollars, as well as Diamond sponsor Bersanas, Jacobsen, Chouest, Thomson, Blackburn LLP.
With your support, nearly $350,000 has been raised to purchase necessary medical and patient recreation equipment, and support efforts to renovate and build more patient-centred, therapeutic environments across the hospital. Items such as patient lifts, geriatric chairs, vital signs machines and accessible beds, bathtubs, and washrooms have been purchased with these funds. The money raised has also enabled us to continue mental health research and further the understanding of mental illness and addiction issues.
Tickets are $175 each and include a 'Feast' of hors d'oeuvres, charcuterie & gourmet stations for dinner, an amazing auction, live music, special guest speaker Theo Fleury and exceptional company.
