Michelle DueckmanMichelle DueckmanBSc (Hons), MPH, Research Coordinator 

Michelle Dueckman joined the Waypoint research team as Research Coordinator in 2019. She provides project management, support and oversight on a variety of research studies and funding proposals. She builds relationships with other organizations/institutions and external researchers to identify collaborative funding opportunities and liaises with community partners, government agencies and funding agencies to move Waypoint’s important research forward. Michelle completed her undergraduate degree in Biology, Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences at the University of Guelph. After realizing her strong interest in chronic disease prevention, knowledge translation, and health communications and promotion, she completed a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) at the University of Guelph. Throughout and following obtaining her Masters degree, she gained valuable experience in epidemiology, healthy public policy, health communications and fundraising. Notably, her previous experience includes research in dangerous drinking behaviours, work to develop hookah smoking polices in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph region and working as a health policy analyst on the Ontario Cervical Screening Program with Cancer Care Ontario.

 

Michelle believes in doing what you love and doing good through your work. Outside of work, she enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors and finding new and fun ways to stay active.
