Dr. Nadiya Sunderji, MPH, MD

Dr. Sunderji joined Waypoint as the Psychiatrist in Chief in February 2019. Dr. Sunderji is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, at the University of Toronto. She has additional appointments as an Affiliate Scientist at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute and as a Core Faculty at the Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.
Dr. Sunderji’s research has been funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, Health Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care’s AFP Innovations Fund. She has published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, BMJ Quality & Safety, Academic Medicine, and Medical Education, among other journals. She regularly presents nationally and internationally. She is the National Coordinator for the Canadian Collaborative Mental Health Care Conference and has been the Chair of its Scientific Committee for several years. She is a chief Co-Editor of Families, Systems, & Health, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Psychological Association.
In addition to completing her medical and residency training at Western University and the University of Toronto, respectively, she earned a Master’s in Public Health and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a specialization in Quality, Patient Safety, and Assessing Health Outcomes.
