Why we fundraise

Waypoint is a registered charity and a public hospital. The public health care system is based on a model of shared responsibility. The government pays operating costs such as salaries, utilities (heating, electricity, etc.), medicines and medical supplies. Additional costs such as capital projects, equipment, technology, and modifications and improvements to facilities are not funded by the government and therefore require additional funding opportunities.
