Mobile Treatment and Support Team
Mobile Treatment and Support Team

The Mobile Treatment and Support Team (MTST) offers services either in our office or in the community. We work with clients and their support network to provide mental health treatment that is flexible and which meets the intensity required by each client.

We provide ongoing assessment and treatment for clients discharged from Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care or who are on a Disposition Order from the Ontario Review Board. Our team consists of nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatry. We provide treatment and recovery services to individuals with a serious mental illness who require a high degree of support in the community. We provide transitional service to clients discharged from an inpatient program at Waypoint until another appropriate service is able to accept the client's care in the community. We often work closely with primary care providers as well as other services through Waypoint and in our communities to ensure clients' recovery needs and goals are met.

Who is Eligible?
Clients 16 years and older who have received treatment at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care who are diagnosed with a serious mental illness and who require a higher level of support in the community. Some clients are referred to MTST by the Ontario Review Board for follow up in the community.

How to access the program?
Please complete the Waypoint Referral Form and submit referrals to the Central Intake department.

What happens after a referral is submitted?
Once the Central Intake team approves the referral, a clinician will contact the client to schedule their initial assessment. Following their initial assessment, clients will be provided with an appointment for a consultation with a psychiatrist. A collaborative Recovery Plan of Care will be developed with the client and care team, which will inform the course of treatment.
