Smoke-free hospital

Waypoint is committed to providing a healthy and caring environment for all.

In accordance with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act and the Cannabis Act, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is completely smoke-free.

Smoking is prohibited on all campuses and hospital-owned or leased properties including gardens, parking lots, in parked cars on our sites. This prohibits the
smoking/use of tobacco, electronic cigarettes and cannabis (medical and non-medical) on hospital property (indoor and outdoor grounds).

This policy applies to all persons on hospital property including staff, physicians, learners, volunteers, contractors, patients, and visitors.

The restriction on smoking or holding lighted tobacco on the outdoor grounds of a public hospital, a private hospital or a psychiatric facility does not apply to tobacco used for traditional Aboriginal cultural or spiritual purposes.
