Sans Souci Program for Transition and Recovery

Sans Souci Program for Transition and Recovery

The Sans Souci Program for Transition and Recovery specializes in the care of individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness.

The program provides care from a multi-disciplinary team comprised of a variety of specialized health care professionals working together. The goal of psychosocial rehabilitation is to ensure that a person with a serious psychiatric disability possesses the physical, emotional and intellectual skills needed for them to live, learn, work and socialize in their own particular environment. The program provides in-hospital and community-based treatment and rehabilitation.

The unit features a large living/dining room, separate rooms available for therapy, activities and visiting as well as private and ward bedrooms.

Visiting a patient
Visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 8:50 p.m. daily. Visitors are encouraged to visit with the patient's consent and children are welcome with adult supervision.

Visitors are asked to contact the program/social worker prior visiting. On some occasions, patients may refuse to meet with visitors, even though they may have travelled a considerable distance. When this occurs, we respect the decision of the patient and we will provide support where appropriate. Waypoint may also restrict visiting hours for clinical or security reasons.
