Internship ProgramWaypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is excited to announce the launch of our new Pre-Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology.

The program offers complete and diverse training opportunities for doctoral students who wish to acquire solid practical experience in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology and Forensic Psychology.

Waypoint offers a wide range of opportunities to acquire a variety of knowledge related to adult mental health, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, dementia, dual diagnosis, personality disorders, psychopathy and more. Clinical interns will be supervised by a team of qualified psychologists and neuropsychologists to train them to work with different types of patients, through direct practical experiences with patients, and using various evidence-based practices in psychology.

Interns will have opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills from their formal academic training. They will also be able to participate in various training courses offered by Waypoint, and contribute to certain research projects at the Waypoint Research Institute. Importantly, students will also be called upon to work in interdisciplinary teams and collaborate with a variety of health care professionals for an enriching experience. In this way, Waypoint will support interns’ growth using the scientist-practitioner model.
