Dr. Sunderji became Waypoint's second President & CEO in June 2022, after serving for several years as its Vice President Medical Affairs & Chief of Staff. Dr. Sunderji is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and is a Core Faculty member at the Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.

Dr. Sunderji’s research has been funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, Health Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care’s AFP Innovations Fund. She has published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, BMJ Quality & Safety, Academic Medicine, and Medical Education, among other journals. She regularly presents nationally and internationally. She served for several years as the National Coordinator for the Canadian Collaborative Mental Health Care Conference and Chair of its Scientific Committee. She was also a chief Co-Editor of Families, Systems, & Health, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Psychological Association.

In addition to completing her medical and residency training at Western University and the University of Toronto, respectively, she earned a Master’s in Public Health and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a specialization in Quality, Patient Safety, and Assessing Health Outcomes.
