Director

Leslie Barnes is a seasoned non-profit executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in housing, mental health, addictions, and justice-involved services. She is recognized for her strengths in strategic management, governance, and effective collaboration with Boards of Directors.

Throughout her career, Leslie has held progressive leadership roles at Reconnect Health Services and Services and Housing in the Province (SHIP), serving as both Manager and Director. Her work has focused on building strong, accountable programs that respond to complex community needs through person-centred, trauma-informed approaches.

Leslie currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of St. Leonard’s Place Peel, where she provides strategic leadership, organizational oversight, and system-level collaboration to support reintegration, recovery, and community safety. Her leadership philosophy reflects a commitment to compassionate, person-centred care, collaboration, and the promotion of dignity.

Her governance experience includes service on the Board of Directors for the Peel Leadership Centre and participation on the Health Services and Quality Committee of William Osler Health System. Leslie brings demonstrated expertise in risk management, fundraising, and strategic planning.

Leslie holds a Master’s degree in Leadership from the University of Guelph and currently serves as a member of the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care Board of Directors, where she contributes her governance and sector expertise to advance mental health services across the region.
