Patricia Fleming's Story

My husband, Dr. Russel Fleming, along with so many dedicated colleagues, gave his heart and soul to helping what was then known as the Mental Health Centre, now Waypoint Centre, become a first-class place of treatment and care for people living with mental illness.

Over the past 50 years, we have come a long way in understanding mental illness and, more importantly, in learning how to ease the pain, fear, and stress that can accompany it. We have also learned more about how compassionate treatment, dignity, and proper care can help people heal and, whenever possible, regain their mental health and find their way back to fuller, more meaningful lives.

I have seen firsthand how much dedication, compassion, and perseverance it takes to provide this kind of care. Waypoint Centre continues to build on that legacy, constantly upgrading its facilities and improving the care it provides to those who need it most.

But this important work requires our support. As the need for care continues, so does the need for safe, appropriate facilities to house and support those who depend on Waypoint.

Please consider helping, if you can. Every contribution helps carry forward the work that so many have poured their hearts into over the years. Together, we can help ensure that people living with mental illness continue to receive the care, dignity, hope, and compassion they deserve
