Effective Friday, December 19, Waypoint staff will be required to wear masks when interacting with patients. Masks are also strongly encouraged for visitors and members of the public while on-site, helping to reduce the spread of respiratory illness and keep our community safe.
With the rise of respiratory illnesses throughout our community, and to maintain alignment with partner hospitals across the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, Waypoint will be updating its approach to masking throughout the facility.
Starting December 19, 2025, masks will be required in all clinical areas, and when interacting with patients. Surgical masks will be required in the following scenarios:
- When hospital staff enter a clinical program
- When interacting directly with patients and clients (outside of clinical programs).
While masking is mandatory for staff in designated situations, masks are strongly encouraged for all visitors when coming to Waypoint as an added step to help keep everyone safe.
