Research Interests
Ella Howard is one of the Student Academic Placements assisting with various projects in the WRI this summer.
She is going into her third year of Life Sciences, with a specialization in neuroscience at Queen’s University. She is a recipient of the Chernoff Family Award, one of Queen’s University’s major admissions scholarships. Furthermore, she represents the Faculty of Arts and Science as one of its orientation coordinators, where she plans and oversees all logistical operations during orientation week. She is also heavily involved in the Queen’s Biomedical Innovations Team (QBIT), where she works with a team to design physical prototypes of biomedical devices in hopes of developing viable treatment and rehabilitative devices for injuries and physical conditions. She is specifically interested in researching neurodegenerative diseases and neurological disorders and has a strong interest in studying the mental health effects experienced by those suffering from addiction disorders. She is thrilled to return to the WRI for her second summer and looks forward to helping advance forensic mental health research.
