Lujayn joined Waypoint Research Institute in 2023 as a Research Analyst. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph, where she majored in Bio-Medical Science and minored in Neuroscience and Family and Child Studies.

Lujayn’s interest in children’s healthcare led her to support a variety of research projects at the Hospital for Sick Children. There, she evaluated the efficacy and safety of home milrinone therapy for pediatric end-stage heart failure. Lujayn also contributed to quality improvement projects, including research on the use of intravenous acetaminophen to reduce postoperative pain in surgical neonates. At Waypoint, Lujayn is currently working on a systematic review on the efficacy of nutritional interventions in reducing childhood/youth aggressive and antisocial behaviour. Outside of work, Lujayn enjoys reading, creative writing, and spending time with her family.
