Prisha Bhanot joined Waypoint in May 2025 as a Machine Learning Engineering Intern within the Data Analytics Department. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical and Bioengineering, with a minor in Computer Science, at McMaster University, where she’s developed a strong foundation in numerical methods, AI technologies, and computational modeling.
At Waypoint, Prisha is focused on building and refining the LSTM-based Early Warning System (EWS) model and working to assist the human-in-the-loop active-learning project, among others.
Prisha’s technical toolkit centers on Python for advanced data manipulation and machine learning (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn), deep-learning frameworks (TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch), and computer-vision libraries (OpenCV, MediaPipe). She supplements this with experience in MATLAB, React for front-end interfaces, SQL for database queries, and Java for backend services, and she holds certifications in French as a Second Language and Standard First Aid & CPR-C.
Outside of her technical work, Prisha loves reading broadly and exploring different genres of art, whether discovering a new novelist, wandering through art galleries, or delving into art history, finding that these creative pursuits continually inspire fresh perspectives in her engineering projects.
