Sarah Welch

Sarah Welch is a strategic advisor with more than twenty years of experience in government and politics, spanning public policy, stakeholder engagement, and intergovernmental relations. She now advises organizations through Oakview Advisory on public affairs, Indigenous engagement, and advocacy.
Previously, Sarah served as Chief of Staff to Canada’s Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Chief of Staff to the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, where she helped advance major national initiatives including the launch of the 988 Suicide Crisis Helpline, the Youth Mental Health Fund, and policies addressing reconciliation and Indigenous priorities. She also held senior roles for Ministers of Indigenous Affairs in the governments of Ontario and British Columbia.
Throughout her career, she has built partnerships across governments, Indigenous communities, and various sectors to advance complex public policy objectives. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Development from the University of Guelph.
